Il Castello Valcalepio Red – D.O.C. Reserve 2013

A reserve produced from a selection of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) and Merlot (40%) grapes grown on vines with an easterly exposure on a calcareous clay marl at a height of about 270 m. above sea level. 

Matured in barriques for 12 months and aged in the bottle. Intense ruby red colour, with delicate hints of vanilla and fruits of the forest and a soft, spicy flavour. 

Excellent as an accompaniment for first courses, especially risottos, as well as the whole range of strong flavoured meats and cheeses. Serve at a temperature of 18-20°C. Ageing: 5-8 years.
