Making wine in Valcalepio
Valcalepio, or the Calepio Valley, takes its name from the Greek “Kalos-Epias” (“a good, sweet land"), dominated by the rolling hills between lakes Como and Iseo. It is a generous and fertile land, with a unique climate thanks also to the Bergamasque Alps.

Mountain viticulture is also known as "heroic viticulture"... and for a reason! The term certainly describes what we do here, as altitudes may not be that high but the gradients are very steep. In Valcalepio, reaching the vineyards has always required some serious climbing.
